After more than a decade of tours around the world, with different types of musical ensembles, Jef Neve decided to concentrate on the essentials: A piano and a pianist! Take the musician out of his comfort zone, remove his rhythm sections and admire a pure art form appearing on stage. That is the concept.
Beyond the existing personal song covers (from Monk to Stromae), Jef worked for several years on a new album. This first solo album, ONE, was launched worldwide.

The link between Jef Neve and East Africa has always been strong. Over the past three years Jef has performed annually in Kenya. The culmination of these tours was his nomination as an inspiration for the Safaricom International Jazz Festival in Nairobi as well as his presence as headliner at the last edition of the festival, which took place in February this year. Jef also supports "Ghetto Classics", a music school of 700 students in the slums of Nairobi. This support takes the form of the regular dispatch of musical scores and material.

When he received the invitation to also visit Rwanda and Uganda, Jef did not hesitate long before answering positively! He and his team are delighted to be able to perform before the Rwandan public in Kigali on December 9!

This concert will have a special flavor since Cécile Kayirebwa is the special guest. This combination promises a musical moment that is part of a long tradition of collaboration through musical dialogue and cultural exchange. The traditional Rwandan singer-songwriter continues to explore new artistic paths by lending and mixing her voice to the creations of artists from different cultures. Most memorable collaborations includes those with Belgian artists Chris Joris - who gave birth to some of the most famous pieces of his solo career such as Kana Ka Mama, Cyusa, Ubumanzi and Tarahinda among others - and Will Tura but also with DieudonnéKabongo, Ken Ndiye, Riffy Kitouka, Jean Mutsari as part of BULA SANGOMA.
